Who is ultimately the strongest anime/manga character in the universe?

There's always some endless discussions going on about who is the strongest superhero of all time; Can Superman defeat Wonderwoman? Could Spider-man take Wolverine? and so on.

"Who is the most powerful?" seems to be a topic that can always ignite a heating discussion. Here in Japan, people often wonder about anime/manga characters. Who would fair best if Son Goku and Naruto and Kenshiro and Kinnikuman were put in a battle royal?

According to a poll taken by Japanese web portal goo, Son Goku is regarded the ultimate, invincible, most powerful man in the galaxy, which is quite understandable. But the rest of the result came out sort of surprising.

Here's the list of Top 30 strongest anime/manga characters of all time.

1: Son Goku from Dragon Ball series.

2: Doraemon might not be especially powerful compared to other mighty anime characters, but he could get the upper hand of most of them with his wisdom and various gadgets from his fourth-dimensional pocket.

3: Arale Norimaki from Dr. Slump looks like a little girl but actually a super-power robot.

4: Kenshiro, the martial art master from the post apocalyptic Fist of the North Star series.

5: Kankichi Ryotsu, a lazy, undisciplined police officer who somehow possesses superhuman strength.

6: Astro Boy from the Astro Boy franchise.

7: Son Gohan, son of Son Goku.

8: Duke Togo a.k.a. Golgo 13, the most deadly professional assassin.

9: Monkey D. Luffy, the rubber bodied pirate from One Piece.

10: Suguru Kinniku(Suguru Muscle) from slapstick wrestling manga Kinnikuman.

11: Patalliro du Malyner VIII from Patalliro!.

12: Pegasus Seiya from Saint Seiya.

13: Yusuke Urameshi from Yu Yu Hakusho.

14: Gogeta, the combined form of Goku and Vegeta through "Fusion", with red hair and brown fur.

15: Keroro from Sgt. Frog.

16: Haruhi Suzumiya from Haruhi Suzumiya series.

17: Heihachi Edajima from Sakigake!! Otokojuku.

17: Turbo Norimaki, Arale's brother from Dr. Slump.

17: Jotaro Kujo from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

20: Kintaro Yajima from Salaryman Kintaro.

21: Killua Zoldyck from Hunter × Hunter.

21: Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto.

23: Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach .

23: Dark Schneider from Bastard‼: Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy.

25: Neuro Nogami from Majin Tantei Nōgami Neuro.

26: Luckyman from Tottemo! Luckyman.

27: Lina Inverse from Slayers.

27: Gon Freecss from Hunter × Hunter.

27: Yujiro Hanma from Baki the Grappler.

30: Jonathan Joestar from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Five characters created by Akira Toriyama made the top 30, and most of the top 30 characters were from mangas serialised on Shonen Jump. The chart seems to reflect popularity as well as the character's strength.
