560Mbps Nearfield Transfer Enabled by TranferJet: CEATEC JAPAN 2009

In prior article we wrote about TransferJet which enables wireless 560Mbps data transfer. It's faster than 480Mbps of USB2.0 but needs no cable. Only a touch onto the device will complete data transfer procedure.

KDDI brought working demo of this TransferJet device embedded on cellphone handset to their booth in CEATEC JAPAN 2009. So we filmed how they actually transfer data.

As a test, we earn data from this data-embedded poster.

Some devices are under this poster and touching here will transfer movie data to cellphone. For present, we have QR code for embedding small size of data, like URL for advertisement web pages, but in the future these data transfer would be a major method for interactive advertisements.

Actually it needs 10 second or so to boot transferring software, but transferring itself is much shorter than existing wireless methods. Further information of release schedules to be announced.
