List of New Anime: Summer 2009

Summer's almost here! Actually, in Japan we get these dreadful rainy weeks called tsuyu before it's officially summer, but summer as in anime season begins in June anyway.

So we compiled a list of new animes for the summer anime season, with pics, synopsis, cast, crew and stuff. The list will include anime films and OVAs to be released this summer as well as TV series.

We'll be updating this post from time to time as new information come out.

Synopsis:

Synopsis:

Synopsis:
Massive ground sinkage that occured on mediterranean coast in 2029 was due to the sudden disappearance of oxygen in the earth crust. From there on, elements vanished rapidly; oxygen, carbon, gold, molybdenum, cobalt.....causing forest, field, buildings and lives to cease.
60 years later, "Nega Earth" was discovered to be where the elements went. Only children under 13 with pliable brain tissue can access the "Nega Earth" beyond the border of dimension. Thus, "Element Hunters" organized by children must retrieve the elements to save the world.

Synopsis:
Cynical and pessimistic to extreme, highschool teacher Nozomu Itoshiki (nicknamed "Zetsubou Sensei" since his name in Chinese character can be read "zetsubou" which means despair in Japanese) can only see the most unfavorable side of things. In the 11th grade class he teaches is the "Little Miss Brightside" Kafuka Fuura and other peculiar specimens. Their absurd schooldays are full of dry humour.
