The 54th Shogakukan Manga Award announced

The final conference of the judging comitee of "Shogakukan Mangasho(Shogakukan Manga Award)" was held yesterday and the winners were announced.

"Shogakukan Manga Award" is one of the most prestigious manga prize in Japan, established 1955. It has four divisions (Children's, Boys', Girls', General) and each winner is awarded 1 million yen.

These are the winners.

Children's

" Naisho no Tsubomi(The Secret Bud)" by Yuu Yabuuchi is a critically acclaimed sex-ed manga suitable for fifth grader.

Boy's

"Cross Game" by Mitsuru Adachi. A high school rom-com / baseball manga.

Girl's

"Black Bird" by Kanoko Sakurakoji is a shojo-manga featured on monthly Betsucomi magazine of Shogakukan.

General

"Gaku -Minna no Yama (Peak - Everyone's Mountain)" by Shinnichi Ishizuka. English blurb of the comic book says "COOL, AWESOME, ASTONISHING STORY ABOUT CLIMBERS AND RESCUERS! CLIMB EASY AND FIND YOUR OWN ADVENTURE!"
